GiochiDiSlots.com had the opportunity of interviewing Magdalena Wojdyla, Head of Account Management for Europe at Wazdan.

Magdalena, can you please tell us about the Wazdan story? Who are you and what is your mission?

Thank you for having me. My name is Magdalena and I have been at Wazdan for over ten years now, initially starting off as an Account Manager and now executing the role of Head of Account Management for Europe, which gives me great satisfaction thanks to the incredible variety of tasks that it offers.

Wazdan was established in 2010 with the aim to bring more innovation to the world of iGaming. Our products boost player engagement and increase our partners’ revenue, and we have been able to build an impressive reputation by consistently delivering prime games and innovative mechanics.

I also appreciate being a part of a multinational team that is so eager about expanding both commercially and in terms of the size of its workforce. Wazdan has added considerable experience to its team this year with the hire of 47 new employees across all departments since the start of 2022, boosting the capabilities of the sales, marketing and executive teams considerably.

What do you believe makes Wazdan different from the other slot providers?

Placing the player at the centre of everything we do enables us to stay on top of the innovation curve and meet current user requirements by delivering products with highly desired features.

It’s never simple to forecast how the player base will react to a new feature or product, but by giving players and operators a sense of power with our Freedom of Choice™ suite, we give ourselves the best chance to create solutions that appeal to our clients.

How have the last few months been? Which game releases are you most satisfied with, and have you entered any new markets?

We have already released 14 games this year, with another 3 exciting titles in the pipeline.

Sizzling Eggs™ has become my favourite in recent months and offers everything Wazdan slots are known for, with stunning graphics, superb animations, and innovative features. Offering the engagement-boosting Collect to Infinity™ mechanic increasing players’ wins in the Free Spins round, this amazing game quickly became one of our best-performing titles.

The past few months alone have seen us presented with a silver award at SBC North America in the category of Rising Star in Casino and receive two awards at the Baltic and Scandinavian Gaming Awards in the categories of Best Slots Provider in the Baltics and Rising Star in Nordic Online Casino Technology. We also won the Best Online Casino Provider award during this year’s CEEG Awards ceremony.

We also recently received approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and entered Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, and the Netherlands. It’s been a really successful year for Wazdan!

Could you tell me a little bit about your top 3 most popular slot games and why you think these games are so popular?

Players’ all-time favourite slot is 9 Lions. Its oriental theme and thrilling bonus rounds, tick all the boxes in terms of what players look for in a slot product, and the G2E Asia Hot Hit Award is proof of that.

That said, this year we invested in developing innovative features, such as the ground-breaking Cash Infinity™ mechanic, which is proven to increase player engagement while amplifying retention rates. As a result, 9 Coins™ slot, released in July, has established itself as a top-performing game in our collection. The game is so popular, that we had little choice but to make it a game series and release more games with bigger jackpots.

Beyond these titles, Magic Spins™ – which introduced the Collect to Infinity™ feature and experienced an exceptional launch – is one of my favourites. The game saw a 129% increase in bet sum in the first week after its launch compared to another top-performing title, Fortune Reels.

What are your plans for future development?

I don’t want to give much away, but we look forward to entering new markets and continuing to partner with the best casino operators on the market. We are going to achieve that by releasing innovative new games with pioneering features and developing new tools and customisable features that provide players with additional control over their experiences.

Our upcoming slot, Burning Sun™, will be released on November 24th. With the player-favourite Hold the Jackpot™ bonus round and Sticky to Infinity™ feature, this game is bound to become a hit.

Another version of our top-performing title, 9 Coins™ Grand Gold Edition, will hit the casino grids on December 7th. This thrilling game offers the engagement-boosting Cash Infinity™ feature and the Grand Jackpot increased to 1500x player’s bet.

Hot Slot™: Mystery Jackpot Joker will be released just in time for the festive season, on December 15th. It’s another game in our top-performing Hot Slot™ series and features the new Mystery Joker Jackpot Bonus and Magic Respin mechanics for players to enjoy.

We know that your games have some new features, such as Collect to Infinity™ or Cash Infinity™. Can you tell us a little about these new features?

When creating a successful slot game, every small detail matters. Features must be in line with the theme to create an authentic gaming experience. Even when creating a game series built around a feature, we adjust the elements to the theme to deliver an experience that stands the test of time.

In the case of Collect to Infinity™ and Cash Infinity™, both features come in handy in the Hold the Jackpot™ or Free Spins bonus rounds. The dynamic nature of these engagement-boosting mechanics ensures that they work differently in each new title, making each game engaging and unique.

We already offer a few games that include the Collect to Infinity™ feature, such as Magic Spins™, Sizzling Eggs™, Sizzling Kingdom™: Bison, and Hot Slot™: Magic Bombs. What is the future of online casinos in the regulated market? Do you expect their growth to stall as a result of advertising bans and stricter regulation?

The iGaming industry is currently growing at an unprecedented rate with no signs of slowing down. Due to this, strict regulations and advertising bans that promote responsible gaming are needed to protect minors and ensure everyone can enjoy gaming in a safe environment. We have recently observed a positive trend of government bodies starting to acknowledge the importance of regulations, following the example set by major markets, and hope to see this phenomenon continue.

We work tirelessly to ensure our games meet the rigid standards expected by the industry’s regulators and that our games are fully compliable with the newly regulated markets that we enter. We believe games should be enjoyed in a socially responsible way.
