CasinoScout.nl interview with Magdalena Wojdyla: Wazdan’s entrance into the Dutch market
CasinoScout.nl had the opportunity of interviewing Magdalena Wojdyla, Head of Account Management for Europe at Wazdan.
Before we dive deeper into Wazdan’s entrance into the Dutch market, could you please introduce yourself to our readers?
First of all, I wanted to extend my gratitude to CasinoScout for having me. My name is Magdalena and I have been at Wazdan for over a decade now, initially starting off as an Account Manager all those years ago and now fulfilling my role as Head of Account Management for Europe.
The satisfaction I get from my job comes from the great variety of work that my role offers. Not a single day is the same at Wazdan, and with a positive team spirit that extends across the entire organisation, I come to work each day with a massive smile on my face.
Could you please tell us a bit more about the reason behind Wazdan’s success, and how Wazdan grew from scratch to the company we know today?
Our dedication to providing cutting-edge content and solutions has been the key to our success since the foundation of Wazdan back in 2010.
We continue to expand and refine our offer to elevate the casino grids with premium online slots and tools that increase player engagement and deliver proven results. Today we drive value for operators across 20+ regulated markets with our portfolio of 150+ cross-platform casino games.
Our products are proven to boost player engagement and increase partner revenue, and we have achieved our impressive reputation by consistently delivering high-quality games, year after year.
Features such as Volatility Levels™, Hold the Jackpot™, Collect to Infinity™, and Cash Infinity™ are Wazdan’s flagship inventions that have quickly become player favourites and have provided our partners with a significant boost of metrics.
What do you think makes Wazdan games unique over other competitors?
By taking the player-centric path in our operations, we manage to consistently stay ahead of the innovation curve. This is achieved by delivering products with engagement-boosting features, stunning visuals, and creative storylines.
Predicting how a new product or feature will be received is never easy, but we’ve developed a solution to highlight the best that our slots have to offer. By introducing our customisation suite, which includes innovative tools and features such as Cash Drop, Ultra Lite Mode, Ultra Fast Mode, and Volatility Levels™, we deliver a sense of agency to our players and operators, in that carving out a path for ourselves that few competitors can follow.
We know Wazdan for bringing fresh mechanics and innovative features, such as Hold the Jackpot™, Collect to Infinity™ and Cash Infinity™. Would you mind taking us through the process of how the Wazdan team came up with these ideas, and how these are being realized into a finished product?
First and foremost, we analyse player preferences which form the basis of our initial brainstorms, where we eventually come up with unique ideas and new features that will boost player engagement.
When creating a successful slot game, every small detail matters. Features must be in line with the theme in order to create an authentic gaming experience. Even when creating a game series built around a feature – such as our Hold the Jackpot™ series – we adjust the elements to the theme in order to deliver an experience that stands the test of time.
Following this, our game developers, graphic and sound designers, as well as animators work their magic on the game which then must be tested and certified to facilitate the requirements of various jurisdictions.
Our sales and account managers then join in, doing their best to make the game available for players in as many online casinos as possible. It is a busy ecosystem but one that works in harmony, with over 170 of us pulling in the same direction to develop the innovative mobile-first games that define our portfolio.
In August, this year, you went live in the Netherlands for the first time after partnering up with Casino777. Has the Dutch market been on your radar for a longer time, and if so, how did you prepare for the Dutch entry?
We are committed to entering newly regulated markets that hold promise for our products, so the Dutch market was an obvious choice for us.
We carefully selected specific games to be certified for this market, and when we were ready to go live in the Netherlands, we partnered with the best online casinos in the region to ensure that players can enjoy our games in a safe environment.
While being active in over 20 regulated markets, how important was your step in entering the Dutch region?
Every new market entry is very important to us and comes with months of significant preparation. With each new market expansion, we grow our company’s global presence and fulfill our mission of bringing our games to more audiences around the world.
The Dutch market is particularly important to us because we appreciate our European players and enjoy catering to them. It’s a market with huge potential and we are eager to bring our innovative and exciting slots to the region.
Currently, Wazdan games can only be played in one Dutch Casino. Are you looking into any more partnerships, and if so, which casinos do you have on your radar?
As a matter of fact, we recently went live with Play North’s brands: Kansino, Pikakasino, and Kiirkasiino,, and we’re completing the integration process with other popular casino brands in the region as well, so stay tuned!
From the Wazdan’s titles that you released so far in the Netherlands, which title, or titles, seem to be the biggest hit among Dutch players so far?
Dutch players immediately fell in love with Larry the Leprechaun, a game of ours that won the Game of the Year award at the Malta Gaming Awards in 2019. The data suggests that they also enjoy our all-time classics, such as Sizzling 777 Deluxe, Great Book of Magic Deluxe, and Magic Fruits Deluxe.
Our top-performing title 9 Coins™, which has since become a series, has quickly established itself as one of the most popular games in our collection since its launch over the summer and is generating fantastic results in the region.
Some providers, like Stakelogic and Red Tiger, make slot machines specially focused on the Dutch audience. Is this something Wazdan is considering as well?
When entering a new market, we always strive to meet the demands of players. We are fully committed to ensuring that Dutch players have access to the best Wazdan games that contain all our most engaging and exciting features.
We never know what the future holds, but we hope to continue expanding our business in the Dutch market by creating slots that continue to exceed the expectations of Dutch audiences with their unique features and imaginative themes.
You have a few unique games in your 2022 roadmap. Which release are you most excited about, and why?
I can’t wait for the Hot Slot™: Mystery Jackpot Joker slot to be released on December 15th. It’s the fourth game in our top-performing Hot Slot™ series and offers two new exciting features.
The Mystery Joker Jackpot Game elevates the user experience to a brand-new level and allows players to win huge Jackpots. With the engagement-boosting Magic Respin mechanic they will be able to enter the bonus round more often and win bigger prizes. These two mind-blowing features were developed to increase player retention and we look forward to seeing how our players react to this new game.
